World Cloud Security Day - April 3, 2025

World Cloud Security Day is held on April 3 to help raise awareness amongst IT and security leaders about the growing threats organizations associated with remote and hybrid work and BYOD.

According to a recent report, 32% of remote workers use apps or software for work that are not approved by IT and 92% of remote employees perform work tasks on their personal tablet or smartphone devices. These devices, apps and software, along with the corporate data being accessed, are not visible to IT (shadow IT), which dramatically increases an organization’s security risk.

404 Day - April 4, 2025

404 Day is celebrated on April 4. The Electronic Frontier Foundation’s (E.F.F.) activists created 404 Day as a campaign to warn everyone that the internet, long dubbed “the information superhighway.” is full of bottlenecks and rotting infrastructure, especially in public schools and libraries where children have access. To comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), public libraries and public schools have been censoring the internet for over a decade by banning and blacklisting websites. In exchange, for government funds, the law was established to urge public libraries and schools to filter child pornography and obscene or “harmful to children” pictures from their internet connections.

Nonetheless, fans have been celebrating First Contact Day since 1996 — when the idea was introduced in the film, “Star Trek: First Contact.” The best way to celebrate this day is by enjoying all things “Star Trek” and reliving our favorite movies and episodes with Trekkies!

National IT Service Provider Day - April 12, 2025

National IT Service Provider Day is on April 22 annually. This day aims to applaud IT service providers’ hard work and contributions to businesses across the country. Technology is an integral component of the national economy and something we need to survive. Without the IT service providers, businesses won’t function optimally, and many would crumble; thus, these people play vital roles in the nation’s economy. For the above reasons, it shouldn’t be surprising a day exists to celebrate IT service providers.
