GALACTIC TRUST & COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION

We are pleased to announce that ResTech became compliance certified in July 2024. We have furthered our partnership with Galactice Advisors by completing our compliance certification with them, continuing our commitment to help all businesses achieve compliance.

In 2023 we partnered with Galactic Advisors. Galactic Advisors is a third-party cybersecurity firm that partners with IT providers such as ResTech Solutions and focuses on security from third-party assessments to compliance. As part of this partnership, Galactic Advisors regularly audits our internal systems. In early April 2024 we completed the first stage of our security journey and acheived Trust Level 1.

World Password Day - May 1, 2025

Still using your cat’s name followed by an “&” for your 401(k) account password? Sorry, but that’s just not enough to protect your life savings in 2019. Here’s a term you need to know on World Password Day: #LayerUp.

This refers to adding strong authentication to your important passwords to prevent identity theft and other cybercrimes.

Intel created World Password Day — the first Thursday of May (May 1) — to address the critical need for solid passwords. It’s simple, really. Most operating systems offer an easy way to create and store passwords. Apple’s “Keychain Access” is one example. You can also go online to generate passwords which are practically hacker-proof.

In other words, “e9UBct*35TwhT&p/’e{:y}” is the new “MisterWhiskers.”

Electromagnetic Radiation Awareness Month - May 2025

Electromagnetic Radiation Awareness Month takes place in May annually. We observe this day to raise awareness about the dangers of electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation is the flow of energy through free space or a material medium in the form of electromagnetic waves. These waves have a spectrum that includes frequencies such as radio waves, visible light, and gamma rays. In simple terms, it refers to the emission and transmission of radiant energy. Depending on the energy contained in the spectrum, radiation can have effects on the health of our bodies. On the lower energy part of the spectrum, we have radio waves that cannot affect our health, and on the higher end, there are X-rays and gamma rays that can potentially kill us.

Military Appreciation Month - May 2025

Introduced in 1999 by Sen. John McCain and honored every May, Military Appreciation Month encourages Americans to reflect on the sacrifices made by soldiers, sailors, and all current and former military personnel.

May is an appropriate month for a military remembrance, since the month also includes VE Day, which commemorates the end of World War II in Europe, and culminates in Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May to honor veterans who died in service.

During the month of May, Military Appreciation Month pays tribute to the members of the military.

Geek Pride Day - May 25, 2025

Geek Pride Day is celebrated on May 25 every year. This international holiday promotes the culture, hobbies, and interests of geeks worldwide. Once a niche movement, geek culture has gone mainstream, thanks to its contribution to popular culture. In recent years, the world has seen increased media based on comic books, novels, role-playing games, tabletop games, video games, and even trading card games. Obscure things like cosplaying are now part of everyday life. These things were seen as childish and sometimes downright shameful in the past, but not anymore.
